Life is interesting when planning a national art show.  From the big issues to the minutia, there is always something to handle, resolve, talk out, compromise and stand up for.  Spending a year to put on a one-day event is a challenge; experiencing the fun, joy and success on that day is worth every minute.

One of the fun tasks at hand is lining up the artist roster for 2013.  Right now we are creating the list of new artists that will be juried, receiving agreements from our "alumni" artists and working out all the details of website, marketing (Local & National), décor and many other logistics.  They are all great parts of producing the show.  Lesley, Stephanie and I have been on the phone, on Skype and on Facebook on numerous occasions exchanging ideas and working out the kinks and sharing the joy of the creation of a premier art show for our artists and our Halloween collectors.

Our artists are why we have a show.  Halloween & Vine isn't just a venue to sell "stuff to dust", but a place for artists to show their expression and creativity, meet their collectors - new & seasoned, meet or catch up with friends and have some fun.  It's also an opportunity to hone marketing skills with social media, email blasts and sending out postcards.  We are working diligently to encourage the artists to build their brand and continue building interest out there.  The success of the artists means we are getting our job done.  From alerting the artists to other show opportunities to sending out a monthly newsletter with tips, techniques, artist spotlights and show information, we are committed to their success.

Stay tuned as we ramp up the energy.  I'll be blogging regularly for the next few months.  Sometimes there will be awesome websites for supplies or artist spotlights and who knows what else we'll share about.  Thanks for stopping by our H&V blog, we'll be chatting soon!
